Hillary Clinton is actually not the democratic nominee yet. You should still go vote in your primaries if they haven't been held yet.
Warning: long post below, stick with me please ;) Any of you guys who really keep up with me, know that I dabble in a lot of different genres. I mean Treasure Fingers was just a small side project while I was doing Evol Intent before it took my main focus. Ever since I started learning to produce, I’ve always made downtempo, IDM & experimental hiphop but never put resources into releasing it. I’d throw them into a folder that I titled “The Treasury.” I can’t even count the number of beats I’ve made and never showed a single person. Anyways, fast forward to a year or 2 back, my bud Alex Tumay (engineer for Young Thug among many others) hit me up asking if I had any tracks to submit for thugger. I sent over a small zip of beats, a few were really normal radio rap type stuff, plus a few weirder ones just to show some range. He picked the most unexpected one of the whole bunch and KILLED it. (Search: Young Thug - Raw if you want to hear). Fast forward even further to about a month ago, A-Trak was curating a Boiler Room with Ray-Ban in Brooklyn & the theme was established artists playing a set of something different that they don’t usually play. It was called “Face Your Critics” & trust me, being live streamed to the entire internet on Boiler Room for this particular critical event with a side project was anxiety inducing at the very least. I was super excited to be a part of it & the panic attacks were actually sort of welcomed. I had been yearning for a new challenge, something to make me nervous, pull me out of my comfort zone. The days leading up to it were complete madness. I didn’t sleep much except the night before when the anxiety overwhelmed me & I drank an entire glass of warm hennessy complimented by some green herbal supplements just to chill out and sleep a bit. I set multiple alarms to wake up the next morning at 8am and start cracking in the studio again. Almost half of this Boiler Room set was made just a couple days prior because I freaked out and didn’t think any of my older material was good enough. So day of, I fly to New York & go chill at my managers apartment for a couple hours, where I finally start picking out the tracks I want to play & loosely plan the actual DJ set. I tend to be very low-key & stay cool in most situation so I think I hid it well, but my mind was racing up until I got 2-3 tracks deep into my set. I could sense the vibe around me was starting to warm up, people dancing, some hollering here & there. Maybe starting at 60bpm wasn't the best idea, but I just got in the zone and let it ride from there. The feeling afterwards was INSANE. Getting a positive reaction to a set of 100% unreleased & even some unfinished music from a room of people I don’t know, let alone the internet was one of the best rushes ever. It lit a huge fire in me to actually finish up a full album and get this stuff released. Here’s a link to the set, I’d love for everyone to check it out & spread the word if you’re feeling it. I’m not abandoning Treasure Fingers by any means, my label Psycho Disco is running strong, I just started a new podcast, Psychic FM, & I still love house music as much as ever. But be on the lookout for The Treasury soon :) https://www.facebook.com/boilerroom.tv/videos/1165884353457274/ <3 <3 <3
