Meet Valerie Shirley. When meningitis left her son, Musab, deaf at 5 months old, she began to learn sign language. Along the way, she recognized a need to help other deaf Muslims learn about their religion - and co-founded Minnesota Deaf Muslim Community -MDMC as a result.
