Some of co-founder Pete Saari's old favorites and a bit of the stories behind them. #libtech #handkraftedintheusa @turtletater: "Couldn't rip the pow this morning but was feeling really snowboardy. Dug up a few old friends. Late 80s asym proto stick w a hand painted epoxy mold release top art. I took this thing to Mt Baker for some euro posi carve vibes and Jason Bas almost killed me w the disgusted look of hardboot hatred. It was a really good thing Craig beat Reblegatti. Another late 80s stick second year of Lib Litagator w the cat graphic Olson, Crittenden and I came up with. We had watched lawyers fight over Gnu for a year and were impressed that the litigators on both sides made money and no one else got anything. We got Gnu back that year because everyone realized it was worthless and empty without Mike and I working our asses of on it. Andy Brewer from Salt Lake and the Batchelor boys really loved this one. Early 90s MC wave w BMXr base. Twin chopped tips w elliptical kink. Jib and tweaks were peaking and Summit County was king. 90s Emma Peel. The Emma Peel had mass appeal as artist Nick Russian liked to say. This board was his design and intended to allow him to catch Crystal Mountain ski race academy chicks with their "Apple butts" in speed suits. Nick was an amazing skateboarder who grew up w NW skate legend Tom Pea and pushed us to make a twin pill snowboard just as pill skate shapes began to take hold. This thing had an 8m sidecut and Paul Ferrel who introduced us to his grom skateboarder friend Jamie Lynn and now runs our BMBW development team won the men's Pro Baker Banked slalom on it in rock hard ice conditions. Nick did the art on the Emma for eleven years. This one is our friend who rode for Burton at the time Victoria Jealouse. It was a 3D diorama we photographed that I still have stashed away. Nick still does art for us every year and works w my brother in specialty customer service. Gotta get to work on some new boards. Later."
