Please read: This is what 10 racks Canadian looks like. Other than bill choice, colour, and face direction if you're one of those, it's all the same. In Canada we know how far this goes. Or not far at all. $10,000 barely pays most people's rent or mortgage for a year. It can't get you through university, it won't get you a decent car, and it barely pays for your Goodlife membership. $10,000 is enough to put a small dent in your student loan. It's enough to stunt for some sneakers but not enough to stunt on the professionals who don't care about shoes. It's really not that much money. But it can still go a long way for many of us. Months ago I set out to do something I thought would be impossible. I wanted to pay for a full set of essential living items for kids coming out of homelessness and foster care for an entire year. These "Booster Packs" would provide 84 young people between the ages of 16-24 a knife, a fork, a spoon, a mug, a plate, a saucer, a bowl, a frying pan, pots, a towel, a duvet, a duvet cover, a pillow, a pillow case, and a bed sheet. Just to make their road to success easier. I knew I could do it on my own. But I wanted to do it with my community. So I started an IndieGoGo page. And together, we raised this money. And today, I am proud to say, I will be going over to meet with the logistics manager at IKEA, to collect all of the items for every young person going in and out of Eva's Phoenix Transitional Housing here in Toronto for the entire year of 2017. This is the power of community. This is the value of banding together. And this is the type of shit I hope my followers get really inspired by; not by the shit I get, the art I make, or the brand I own. But by the motivation I have to see us all get what we deserve. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this cause. Your support means the world to so many people. No regrets 2017 continues.
