I've had the most fabulous three months on Strictly. But the standard is getting higher and higher and this week was definitely the right time for me to go. Thank you to everyone who has voted for us and given us ten weeks of joy. If the viewers have enjoyed it half as much as me then they must have had a blast. I can't thank enough all the BBC producers and back-room staff, the wardrobe, hair and make-up experts and the wonderful band and singers as well as Tess, Claudia and the Judges. Extra special thanks to Vinnie, Rebecca, Hannah, Kiran and Chris for all their advice and support. My fellow contestants have been such a close-knit and supportive group. Friendships for life have been made. And who'd have thought I would get messages of support from Joan Collins, Miranda Hart, Clare Balding, Dave Schneider, Richard Osman, Lord Sugar.. not to mention my old political opponents George Osborne and Michael Gove who joined me for this election. And I wouldn't have done the show in the first place without the encouragement of Yvette and Jeremy Vine. Good call! Above all, thanks to my brilliant professional partner, Katya Jones. She is a not only a great, great dancer but also a genius choreographer - creative but also hugely generous. She and her husband Neil have a brilliant future ahead on the show. I didn't ever think I could get to Blackpool. I wasn't sure I would survive the first vote. As for doing a Gangnam salsa, playing a flaming piano suspended above the Tower ballroom floor or impersonating the Mask.. not in my wildest dreams. But it turns out Strictly does make such dreams come true. Thanks for the ride! And you know what I'm going to say... Keeeeep Dancing !!
