???? Happy Birthday to my hip! ???? My hip is 1 year old today. A year ago today I was getting a crushed and rotten femur carved out of my body (I broke it running a marathon). For about two years I was limping and in constant pain. I couldn't walk more than a block without losing my mind in pain and I was really stressed so I developed polyps on my vocal chords. I'd lose my voice after one or two songs so I couldn't really tour either. I didn't want to though. I was depressed as hell and didn't see a way out since 4 surgeons had told me I was too young to get the replacement. It was nothing short of a nightmare and I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have it all in the past. I'm currently on a world tour where we walk roughly a mile everyday, traveling solely by trains and busses and I'm singing like a fucking boss every night. I'm no longer depressed, my voice works again, I'm walking straight and dancing crooked! Things are back to normal and it wouldn't have been possible without my huge support net and Obamacare. I'm eternally grateful for the hip but I'm equally upset about the millions of Americans that cannot afford healthcare. What's worse is even if they could afford it, they'll soon be turned down due to preexisting conditions. Without Obamacare I would've been liable for the full $65,000 but since he made it illegal to not insure people who fucking need insurance, i only had to pay $12K. If you helped me with this surgery would you please DM me your mailing address? I'd like to write you a letter. Thank you ????????????????
My favorite #SXSW pastime: spending the entirety of my earnings from the festival ($13.77) on kolaches at The Czech Stop on the way home.
