A Fort Huachuca trail camera recently captured the image of a jaguar in the Huachuca Mountains. AZGFD and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are partnering to determine if this sighting represents an individual animal not previously seen in Arizona. Link
Have you ever wondered what Fossil Creek (near the town of Strawberry, Ariz.) looks like below the surface? Here is some great video footage posted recently on our In the Current native aquatic species blog. It was taken by AZGFD biologists during a native fish snorkel survey near Fossil Springs. Snorkel surveys are part of an ongoing effort by the department to repatriate federally endangered spikedace, loach minnow, and Gila topminnow into Fossil Creek.
