At Z2Live, our mission is to deliver next generation games to the world. For the last week, we’ve fallen short of this and for that we are truly sorry. We’ve had our engineering teams working around the clock and as of 2:05pm PST we have brought all game servers back online. We are monitoring the servers closely and will be ready should any new issues arise, but we thought it was important to explain what happened, and what we’re doing to prevent it from happening again in the future. We place a very high value on our player’s data and we go to great lengths to make sure that all player data is secure and free from corruption. Those efforts paid off as they allowed us to weather several major database failures spread out over the past few days without losing player’s progress. However, as our games have grown the amount of data and the number of servers we run has increased dramatically, and while the recovery processes we had in place were suitable in the early days, they are simply not where we feel they need to be today. Over the coming weeks we’ll be focusing on optimizing our process for recovery, bringing increased redundancy in our data center, and looking for ways to improve the infrastructure from the back end, all the way down to the client. It is our goal to ensure that you’re provided the uninterrupted, persistent and fun game-play that you have come to expect from us. We are aware of, and are thoroughly investigating, some issues in our 4.1 update. We sincerely apologize for the disruption in gameplay, and assure you that we are working non-stop to isolate the issues and provide a resolution. We are looking into the server issues that are preventing players from connecting. We will post an ETA once we have more details.
Servers still down as a result of a power outage at our hosting provider. Our engineers are working to get them back up ASAP.
