I'm sitting in a Cambridge cafe writing on a laptop (very arty writer thing to do) and the girl on the next table is posting photos of her meal to 'share' it, which to 70's me where I grew up is Science Fiction. And now I'm commenting on social media about her social media behaviour and the irony actually hurts.

Several people have asked about Salvation, so a (very) brief summary... Set in 2204, an abandoned alien spaceship is discovered 90 light years from Earth, in an uninhabited star system, by the first human starship to reach that far. A team of politically connected officials from various factions, all of whom have their own agenda, are sent to assess if it is a threat. What could possibly go wrong?
