Please for the love of all that is ethical and effective in social media marketing STOP adding people to Facebook Groups without their permission. Pass it on.
Please please please check your Facebook Live strategy if you are using it for business. Here are my top suggestions: 1. Set everything up BEFORE you go Live. Any supplies, materials, notes, take a drink BEFORE you go live, eat your snacks before you go live, set up your title, check your settings, check your hair/lips and THEN hit GO LIVE. Your audience should not have to sit through your prep work. They are taking time out of their day to listen to you, SERVE them. 2. Position your camera so there is NOT all that "head space" above your head! Imagine if we were sitting across the table from each other in person. When you have tons of space above your head it is as if you are crouched on the floor with your head peering over the table in front of me. Tilt your tripod/laptop/cam or put some books/boxes under things so you are at eye level with the camera with minimal space above you. Oh and look at the camera itself (the "eye") and not yourself IN the camera. Put a picture of someone by the camera if that helps to be able to look at a person. 3. START RIGHT AWAY. Please I beg you, do not ever sit there in silence waiting for more people to join you, or mumbling or rambling or fixing your hair, wiping your nose etc. That dishonors those who are there (even if it is only one) and annoys and BORES those watching the replay. Have something to say that adds value or is fun that you talk about right away. And for heaven's sake don't ever talk about how few people are there, how quiet it is, etc. Argh. I could go on and on (I will someday) but those are the biggest ones I am seeing over and over and over that are really bugging me! haha What TO do? Focus on your audience, how you can serve them valuable information, how you can provide a fun or informative experience, what THEY need, and how to be the VERY BEST reflection of yourself, your company and the entire direct selling profession.
When consultants from various direct selling companies act like vultures swooping in on fresh meat, it hurts the representatives from the company that is closing, and it damages the reputation of our industry since it is done so publicly through social media. Give the consultants time to grieve and those who are ready to find you, will. Link
