It's a night where I think we are all going to rest easy. I thank all of the members of the public for their extraordinary patience and their participation in this investigation. To all of the people and the professionals who brought their A-game, we have a suspect in custody tonight. On behalf of the lives taken and so many injured, how grateful I am to all who've worked together to bring tonight’s conclusion.
To those who are reluctant to raise the minimum wage, before you resolve to oppose it, consider whether you could live on it. #RaiseTheWage
Steady, sensible, resolved -- President Obama is what America and the world needs.
Today we are proud of 9 years of marriage equality in Massachusetts and look forward to the day when all Americans can marry whomever they love.
You've heard me talk a lot over the years about backbone -- about standing up for what we as Democrats and as Americans believe -- because that's what it takes to secure and extend the American Dream. With your help, last night we reelected Barack Obama, a steady and faithful leader, as our President. We also elected Elizabeth Warren, another leader with conviction, as our newest Senator here in Massachusetts -- the first woman ever. Exceptional leaders across the country, in races large and small, emerged committed to keeping the American Dream within reach for all Americans. All of that took backbone -- and millions upon millions of one-on-one conversations between you and your friends and neighbors about what was at stake. You are a part of that. And for that, I sincerely thank you. Thanks to you, Americans across the country reaffirmed their fundamental belief in the age-old idea of generational responsibility -- that it is up to us to leave things better for those who come behind us. That is a thing worth savoring and celebrating. Then, it's back to the hard work and the tough decisions needed to move our country forward. For now, just know that one citizen, one American Dreamer, is grateful to you beyond measure.
