Somewhere there is an Icelandic Leicester City supporter having a cracking year.
Many of you may have heard, but maybe some didn't; I won't be racing for the rest of the Nationals this summer after finding out I tore the labrum in my left shoulder during a crash in training last week. I feel absolutely gutted to know my rookie season on the big bike has ended before it really even began, but the most important thing for me to do now is just get it fixed and get healthy enough to be 100% when the 2014 Supercross season starts in January. I had surgery yesterday and now I'm ready to start rehab as soon as I can. I really had a blast out there those first couple rounds and I was starting to find my groove. I'm bummed I won't be racing, but I'm even more bummed that I won't be able to hear all of you cheering me on throughout the summer. I want to thank my family, my team and my sponsors for standing by me through this, but most importantly I want to thank all of you for the support you have given me and I know will continue to give over the next few months. I can't wait to get back out there and do some battling again. - DW15
Fair play to Alastair Cook, double Ashes winning captain, India and South Africa away also on his cv. Steps down with integrity and class
