Appeal for information regarding abandoned dog Early morning walkers have found a dog tied up in Witton Lakes in Erdington at approx 6am this morning. Our dog wardens were called and attended and found the dog to be in very poor condition, profoundly underweight, with overgrown nails and urine staining over its fur. The dog was wearing an oversized yellow reflective collar and was tied up with a red retractable lead. A man was seen entering the park on a bike last night and it seems this dog was with him. The man was then seen leaving the park some 15 minutes later, but without the dog. We do not know a time. We are appealing for information on the owner of the dog or for any other witnesses. Please call 0121 303 6007
WASTE COLLECTION UPDATE: All our crews are out working to the usual collections schedule. Please share this information with your friends, family and neighbours. • Please continue to separate your waste, household rubbish in the grey lid bin and recycling in the blue lid bin. • Remember recycling and garden collections are undertaken fortnightly so may not be collected next week. • More info here http://bit.ly/2w2j0DJ
We are pleased to say that Albert, the little dog found tied up in a very poor condition at Witton Lakes Park in Erdington last week, has been doing very, very well indeed. He has now left the dogs' home and is currently thriving at his foster home, as our video shows. A permanent home has now been found for Albert and he will move there shortly. Investigations are under way into how he came to be abandoned. Thank you to everyone who provided information or offered support.
From Mon 25 Sept, the frequency of waste collections will increase from four weekly to fortnightly to clear the backlog from city's streets. Here is the schedule http://bit.ly/2w2j0DJ. Garden and four wheeled communal bins will be collected on your normal collection day. Please share info with neighbours, friends and relatives who may not be online.
