We are deeply disappointed in the Senate's vote to proceed on this bad health care bill. We will inform our 38 million members how each of their Senators voted so they can hold them accountable. People over 50 overwhelmingly vote and they’ll remember who votes to give them a premium hike as high as $13,000. We continue to strongly oppose ANY bill that raises health care costs and lowers coverage. The Senate should do the same. AARP urges the Senate to focus on bipartisan solutions that will lower costs and improve care for the American people. We stand ready to help.
We strongly oppose the Senate health care bill that was introduced earlier today. The bill includes an age tax that would let insurance companies charge people ages 50 to 64 five times more for health coverage than anyone else while cutting Medicaid and Medicare funding. We will continue to fight this bill. But with the Senate likely to vote within the coming days, it is extremely important for you - our 38 million members - to call your Senators at 844-222-0110 AND tell them to vote NO on this health care bill.
