There is never justification to destroy your own city. Racism will sometimes rear its ugly head but that must be faced with positive and peaceful protest. Not carnage. A great number of these people rioting and looting do so out of selfish agendas and likely don't even know or care what sparked these issues. Shame on those tearing Baltimore apart. This is not how you begin real change. It is not how you combat prejudice. They simply create more.
Today was really a historic moment in our country. Right up there with a number of equality based points in Americas past. I have seen a number of hateful and ignorant remarks online from some of those who appose gay marriage. I suppose there are always going to be a few that can't see for having their eyes closed. This was a civil liberties issue that has finally been resolved in a manner befitting such a beautiful nation. Love is love is love. Don't worry what gender the couple next door are, concern yourself with being a kind and accepting human being. Support those whom are simply trying to live their lives as you are. If you don't believe in gay marriage...don't be gay and get married. Problem solved.
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who wished my father a Happy Birthday. He called me today feeling very emotional that so many people had said such nice things to him online and asked me to please let you all know how much it meant. He doesn't actually have a Facebook but my mom showed him. You made one man's 82nd birthday wonderful. :)
