ANNOUNCING THE 37 BANDS AND 12 DJS PLAYING THE 2016 GOOD LIVING TOUR, presented by Nebraska Department of Economic Development!
Three sonically diverse, original Nebraska musical acts, and one DJ, will perform at free, all-ages concerts in each of the following 12 Greater Nebraska communities: Ord, Kearney, Grand Island, Red Cloud, Hastings, Norfolk, Lyons, O’Neill, Grant, Sidney, Imperial, McCook. [RSVP via our events tab, and plan your road trips.]
Made possible by: Peter Kiewit Foundation, Humanities Nebraska, Center for Rural Affairs, Pinnacle Bank, Nebraska Loves Public Schools and Union Pacific Railroad.
We're excited to announce the 20-act lineup for the inaugural Hear Grand Island summer concert series. Twenty original Nebraska musical groups — including 10 with strong ties to GI — will perform free, all-ages, family friendly sets Friday evenings in the new Railside Plaza in downtown Grand Island.
We're thrilled about Hear GI's potential to help grow Nebraska's statewide music community, culture and industry. Please RSVP, share, and find more details at Hear Grand Island (Fridays — June 24-Aug. 26).
This project wouldn't be possible without support from the following: Eagle Distributing of Nebraska, The Grand Island Independent, The Grand Theatre, The Chocolate Bar, Glass Bar and other sponsors.
Greater Nebraska: We're coming for you June 5-18 on the storytelling portion of the Good Living Tour. In each of these communities, a team of Hear Nebraska staff and contributors produces a combination of music-related features and video interviews, examining what makes each of these towns unique and cool.
Help us: As with last year's trip, we aim to eat at 100% independently owned restaurants. Please recommend your favorite food joints and dive bars. And what quintessential experience should we seek on our off-day (Sunday, June 12) near Red Cloud?
Thanks to Humanities Nebraska for sponsoring this component of the GLT project, to Huber Chevrolet/Cadillac for our vehicle, and to Matthew Hansen for serving as our humanities scholar/editorial advisor.
