Happy Easter (aka Resurrection Sunday) On this glorious day, we are excited to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. God bless, Chuck & Gena Norris
Memorial Day has always been a special time for my family and I. My father fought in World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. I served four years in the Air Force in South Korea, and my brother, Aaron, served in the Army there, too, on the DMZ. Whatever sacrifices we made in our service, however, they pale in significance to our brother, Wieland. Wieland was killed in action in Vietnam when he walked point alone and drew out enemy fire so that others in his platoon could fight their way out to freedom. Many souls were saved on that day because of my brother’s bravery. (My mom wrote a chapter on each of us, and for the first time tells Wieland’s war story at length in her new autobiography, “Acts of Kindness: My Story,” available only at ChuckNorris.com.) When Wieland was 12 years old, he had a premonition that he would not live to be 28. Wieland died on June 3, 1970, one month before his 28th birthday It’s fitting for a soldier like Wieland that Memorial Day falls every year a week or so before the anniversary day that he gave his life in action. (It was to Wieland that I also dedicated all my “Missing in Action” films.) For my brother, the 79 fallen heroes in Hiram, Georgia, and the rest of the one million-plus courageous souls who sacrificed everything for freedom and Old Glory, my wife, Gena, I and the rest of our nation salute you and your families. We will never forget your sacrifice! As Jesus said, “There is no greater love than this: that someone would lay down his life for his friends.” Please read the rest of my Memorial Day article by clicking below. Happy 4th of July / Independence Day! Hopefully your day will be filled with fun, family, friends & great food. As you celebrate the holiday, please take a moment to remember the price our founding fathers & all of our military men / women paid for our freedom. God bless, Chuck & Gena Norris.
