Wallace "Ace" Austin Krause is here! He arrived at 4:59 am after a slow then super fast and intense Med-free labor that started with my water breaking at my appointment yesterday. He's 9.1 lbs and 21.5 inches. Thanks for all the encouragement! ❤️

Not sure how fast this one's gonna go. This is the first time my water has broke this early. I was only at a 3. But we're not coming home until he is out. Baby time!
Postpartum life. I always forget how hard these first few days and weeks will be. Thank goodness for L&D nurses. I have never met one, through delivering 4 babies, who wasn't an angel. Those first few hours where they are walking you to the bathroom and helping you with the giant pads and making sure you don't pass out after passing giant clots after your first pee- I can not think of another time in my life when I've relied more on the wisdom and kindness of a village of women (all mine have happened to be women, though I'm sure exceptional male L&D nurses exist too). High fives and huge hugs if you are one of these support people, including recovery nurses and doulas and anyone who sticks around to help healing moms figure out how to breastfeed and pop those ice pads. Thanks for making it #AGoodDayInTheVillage for moms and babies everyday.
