Today is the 40th anniversary of the Judgment of Paris, when wines from Napa's Chateau Montelena (below) and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars topped French Burgundies and Bordeauxs in the Paris Tasting of 1976.
Eight people have been arrested after police discovered 9,200 bottles of fake Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut, worth roughly $380,000 at retail. There were also labels for 40,000 more bottles—a potential $1.9 million worth. Link
