Honoured to have had a visit from show jumping legend #NickSkelton visit us Bolesworth International yesterday where we're raising awareness for working horses, donkeys and mules!
A huge thank you to Scott Brash who visited our stand Bolesworth International!
Happy birthday to our founder Dorothy Brooke!
After fighting alongside the soldiers during WWI tens of thousands of horses were left behind, sold on to a life of hard labour. When Dorothy Brooke learned of the old war horses’ plight she wrote a letter to the Morning Post on Thursday 16th April 1931, imploring the British people to help her to relieve the animals’ suffering. This was to be the start of a mission which we carry on today.
“If those who truly love horses – who realise what it can mean to be very old, very hungry and thirsty, and very tired, in a country where hard, ceaseless work has to be done in great heat – will send contributions to help in giving a merciful end to our poor old war heroes we shall be extremely grateful.”
Brooke would not exist today if it were not for the determination and passion of one woman.
Did you know that a donation of just £10 could help us reach two working horses, donkeys or mules overseas?

We'd like to say a huge thank you to The Equestrian Film who are hosting a screening in aid of Brooke on the 28th June.
We'd also like to say thank you to actress and horse lover, Kaley Cuoco, who has donated items for an auction which will take place at the screening with all proceeds going towards our work to help improve the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules around the world.

*** Please join us in wishing Alan the best of luck for his fundraising motorbike ride to help working horses, donkeys and mules worldwide! ***
Alan Joseph is taking on a motorbike challenge, riding almost 3000 miles around the UK to raise money for working horses, donkeys and mules. Alan said:
"’I'm a bit nervous about this ride because I’m out of practice – sitting on the bike for six hours a day it can take its toll after two weeks. We’re also camping most nights, which at my age should be interesting!"
