Today is the final day to help us raise funds for homeless animals with the help of our friends at James River Air Conditioning Company. For every new like on their Facebook page they will donate $1 to pets in need up to $10,000. Head to their page and help us care for homeless pets today!
Snoopy is here to remind you that you can raise money for homeless pets without leaving Facebook. Go to the James River Air Conditioning Company page, click "like" and the company will donate $1 for each new like in the month of October. Snoopy and his pal Lucy are both awaiting adoption at our Robins-Starr Humane Center.
This evening 14 dogs who began their lives on a cruel dog meat farm in South Korea destined for slaughter, ended a long journey to safety in the care of the Richmond SPCA. Through the work of Humane Society International, the farm on which these dogs were raised in Jeonju was closed, and at the request of The Humane Society of the United States, we brought these dogs into our care and will guarantee them a future free from the suffering they knew before.
Our Director of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Angela Ivey was here to greet them when they arrived, and she will oversee their examinations and treatment of any veterinary conditions in the days ahead. Our behavior staff, overseen by Chief of Education and Training Sarah Babcock, will work with the dogs to help them adjust to all the new experiences they will encounter in their new lives as pets. Our CEO Robin Robertson Starr remarked when she met the first dog off the plane at Dulles Airport that in spite of the terrible mistreatment he has experienced at the hands of humans, Danyang eagerly accepted her kind, gentle touch. With patience, we are certain that each of the dogs and puppies who are now resting comfortably at our humane center, will adjust to their new lives as beloved companions.
Your gift of love at www.richmondspca.org/donate supports crucial, lifesaving efforts like this one. With your help, we will continue to be there for vulnerable animals who need us so desperately.
