Fantastic News - The U.S. News and World Report list of Best Children's Hospitals was released today, and we've had our best year yet! U.S. News creates the list by gathering key clinical data from approximately 180 pediatric centers through a detailed survey. Part of the score includes a survey of more than 10,000 pediatric specialists throughout the U.S. who are asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty. In 2016, only 78 children's hospitals in the U.S. were on the list. Le Bonheur Children's Hospital is proud to be among the country's best children's hospitals for the sixth year in a row. Hear from James W. "Trey" Eubanks III, surgeon-in-chief and chair of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center about what this prestigious designation means to families.
Today, we'd like to take a moment to celebrate Carlee and Kinlee Weatherford. Kinlee was rushed to Le Bonheur three years ago after having a seizure in the bathtub. Her older sister, Carlee, always made sure Kinlee's room was decorated with bright and colorful artwork and never complained if she had to take a backseat to Kinlee's needs. In recognition of her generous spirit, we are happy to announce Carlee's Creation Station on the 7th floor, where patients and siblings can make art together! We also want to say thank you to the Weatherfords for donating a heaping helping of toys for our families. #allheart
