I am 41, and this is my job. ❤️????
That's all I have to do?! #PimpMySummerBallRHUL
I grew up in a house with very little music playing, and this pic is the first time I ever saw and heard Prince. We finally got a satellite dish and MTV, and his video for Raspberry Beret was playing. I remember it woke my whole fucking body up. (And I mean that in all ways).
Of all the tour and studio stories I have ever heard, the ones featuring him are the best by so many miles.
He played the Brits the year I won my award, and turned Earl's Court into a different planet. I felt so honoured to be able to see him play.
My Mum had never heard him, and during the Purple Rain solo, she turned to me and said, "OOOOOH!! HE'S GOOD ISN'T HE?!"
"Yes Mum, he's really, really good."
Prince and Bowie so transcended being a 'person' on this planet, having them leave is a surreal feeling that we were lucky they even visited.
Thank you for the masterclass ☔️⚡️
