thoughts for the new year... sometimes my industry friends feel discouraged when they see and hear how busy their colleagues are with packed schedules and full calendars... so worried they may be falling behind... here is a reminder: busy isn't good, busy is grey hairs and wrinkles around your eyes, no sleep and terrible food, unbalanced sacrifice and feeling dreadful and tired... true happiness and success come from balance, forgiveness, time to yourself (to make a soufflé, or hunt for antique treasures, to nurture yourself and your loved ones). It's okay to relish in not being busy. In fact, it's wonderful. I hope this upcoming year is filled with TIME. Time for sitting in the sun, for shenanigans, for fiddling, for dawdling, for creating, for doodling, for friends, for family, for me. I've created a business that lets me do these things, and so I MUST... may you have time in the new year too!
