On this date in Jazz history, in 1970, Miles Davis defeated Chet Baker for the JWA middleweight trumpet championship by pin. Davis used his famous "Kind of Blue" choke hold to force Baker into submission. It remains the highest rated televised Jazz Wrestling Association match of all time, besting even the highly touted Keith Jarrett-Chick Corea match in 1978.
